Formal Education

After graduating from Cle Elum High School in the spring of 2000, like most people my age, I was unsure of what I wanted to do with my future. I enrolled in classes at Central Washington University. With no specific major in mind, I decided to sign up for classes that interested me. For the next three years, that’s all I did. I studied biology, sociology, philosophy, Chinese, German, music, and many other subjects. My goal was to learn as much as possible instead of graduating on time. I was in no hurry to get out of school. After three years at Central Washington University, I ventured to another country. I moved to Vienna, Austria, where I studied politics, human rights, and Baroque music, art and history.

I returned to the states in the spring and moved to Seattle, thus ending my academic life at Central Washington University even though I was just months away from having a BA in philosophy. I spent a year at Seattle Community College where I finished my Associates of Arts Degree.

After doing some more traveling, I enrolled at Seattle University in the fall of 2004. I decided to major in international business. I finished classes in March of 2008, and now hold a BA in Business Administration focusing in International Business.graduation

In addition to what I learned in college, I have focused my personal studies on three main topics. The first is ethics. I have studied ethical philosophies of writers such as Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Kant, and many other western philosophers. Human equality is a part of ethics that I am particularly interested in. I have written approximately 100 pages of ethical journals and one day I might decide to have them published!

The second field that I have great interest in is communication. I have read many books on the subject. I feel communication is very relevant in all aspects of life, whether one is giving a public speech, a presentation to a group of peers, or communicating with their own self.

The third area of study that I have most recently indulged in is quantum mechanics. If you know anything about it then that’s great. If not, don’t worry, because I’m not about to go into it now!

I continue to learn every day of my life. I feel that there is no substitute for real life experience. A person can learn all the concepts a text book has to offer, but when the stress of the business world requires them to perform, they will need more than classroom experience to succeed. That is why I have done my best to obtain a well-rounded education.
